Guyancourt, July 11, 2013 – Eight out of ten European best-selling cars are fitted with a range of Sogefi products according to the Information Handling Services (IHS). The recent IHS report found Sogefi filters, suspension parts and air and cooling systems in the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa and other European favourites. The Group's popularity with these makes and models is testimony to the excellent quality of Sogefi's OE and aftermarket products, which both feature identical technologies.
The IHS ranking puts the Volkswagen Golf VI at the top of the list in Europe. The popular compact is equipped with OE stabiliser bars and coil springs. The Ford Fiesta VI follows in second place with original Sogefi oil and diesel filters, coil springs and air and cooling systems such as the thermostat housing. The Opel Corsa D is also among the leaders with Sogefi air and oil filters, stabiliser bars, air intake manifold and coolant pump. Other 2012 models featuring original Sogefi Group parts include the Renault Clio III, Ford Focus, Opel Astra, Renault Megane III and Nissan Qashqai.
For Andrea Taschini, General Manager of the Aftermarket Division, the figures are evidence of the Group's successful strategy of investing in research and development. "The fact that they are selected by Europe's leading car manufacturers for their top-selling cars demonstrates the quality and performance of Sogefi's original technologies," says Taschini. The same cutting-edge technology and innovation that goes into Sogefi's OE equipment is also used in the company's aftermarket products, like the Purflux, Fram®, CoopersFiaam and Tecnocar replacement filters.
Dream machines
Sogefi's OE oil filters also support the smooth running of some of the world's most popular dream machines. For example the Ferrari California, the Maserati Gran Turismo and the Mercedes Benz SLK 350 CGi all make use of Sogefi filters, which are available in aftermarket versions as well. Sogefi oil filters are also selected as original equipment for many high-performance motorbikes. Every Ducati bike, for example, features an original Sogefi oil filter, such as the Ducati Monster 1100.
In addition to supporting comfortable and efficient driving, Sogefi's filters are designed to reduce vehicle noise, curb energy consumption and lower CO2 emissions. Further to this, to ensure an holistic approach to environmental sustainability, Sogefi R&D has been working on cutting back on the amount of raw materials used to manufacture its products. Biodegradable and recycled plastics have replaced metal in the manufacturing of filter parts and other components. Lightweight materials are use for suspension parts, which maintains performance while improving fuel efficiency.
