Milan/Guyancourt, April 23, 2013 – Sogefi Annual General Meeting ( AGM ) of Shareholders approved consolidated results for 2012. Sogefi, one of the leading world producers in the sectors of filters, engine systems and suspension components posted revenues of €1.319 billion. This represents a 13.9% increase over 2011 results and confirms the success of the Group’s strategy of expansion. The recently acquired Systèmes Moteurs, also contributed its share of revenue.
New leadership at Group level
In addition to this, the Sogefi Board of Directors took the opportunity at the Annual Meeting to officially nominate a new CEO. The 49-year-old Guglielmo Fiocchi will replace Emanuele Bosio, who decided to leave his position in the Group after 16 years. Fiocchi, who joined the Group as General Manager in September 2012 is a trained aeronautical engineer, with extensive experience in the automotive industry. During his 25-year career most notably at Pirelli Tires, Fiocchi has held numerous positions.
In his acceptance speech, Fiocchi declared his pride at being at the head of a company that started as a small Italian enterprise and grew to become a global player. “Thanks to our solid financial position, and the product and technology leadership in our areas of activity in the automotive field,” said the new CEO, “we can confidently continue on the path of development and strengthen our competitive position even further.” Guglielmo Fiocchi began in his new capacity on April 19.
Expansion of Independent Aftermarket
The future of the Sogefi Aftermarket is bright, according to Andrea Taschini, General Manager Aftermarket Division, which represents around 25% of the Sogefi Group sales. “We look forward to moving into a new period of exciting possibilities generated by new markets,” says Taschini. “We can both rely and build on the success of our five premium filter brands across Europe and all over the world”.
